The 54-year-old Boyceville woman who died in head-on crash in Dunn County has been identified as Jena D. Anderson. And the man driving the Kia SUV who crossed the center line and hit her vehicle on Monday is Todd R. Dormanen, also of Boyceville.

According to a release from the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, Dormanen, 47, currently faces a charge of fourth offense operating a vehicle while intoxicated, with additional charges that will be considered by Dunn County District Attorney Andrea Nodolf once all the evidence has been collected and reviewed.

Reports of a two-vehicle collision on State Highway 79 at 840th Avenue came in at 12:42 p.m. on Feb. 12 of a crash that took place about three miles south of Boyceville in the town of Sherman. Callers told the E-911 center that there were injuries and the road was blocked.

When deputies, Boyceville police, fire and ambulance and Menomonie Fire/EMS arrived, they found that Anderson, the driver of a southbound Chevy SUV, had been mortally injured. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dunn County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Anderson’s 19-year-old daughter was a passenger in the vehicle. She received non-life threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System-Red Cedar in Menomonie. Behind the wheel of his northbound Kia SUV, Dormanen also sustained injuries and was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire.

Initial investigation seems to show that that Kia crossed the center line and hit the Chevy SUV traveling in the southbound lane. Alcohol use by the driver of the Kia has been determined to be a factor in the collision. The Wisconsin State Patrol was called to the scene for a reconstruction of the crash.

According to a Wisconsin Department of Transportation report, Highway 79 near Knapp was closed in both directions. The accident scene was cleared at 6:05 p.m.
