President Trump’s current budget proposal cuts disability compensation for all service-connected disabled veterans and their survivors, according to the nonpartisan veterans group, the Disabled American Veterans.

Trump wants to cut annual cost-of-living adjustments for all disabled veterans and the survivors of deceased disabled veterans.

Trump also intends to slash payments to “Individually Unemployable” veterans as soon as they reach age 62 and can apply for minimum Social Security retirement benefits, even though they have been unable to work and save for retirement since becoming disabled.

It’s been reported elsewhere that Trump also plans to reduce Social Security and Medicare benefits for everyone in a future budget.

Presumably, all of this is necessary to offset the tax cuts that Trump wants to give the wealthy.

If you’re a disabled veteran or plan to retire some day and voted for Trump and his right-wing supporters like Sen. Ron Johnson, you voted against your family’s future.
