Menomonie seniors Mason Platter and Jacob Miller have been named to the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association’s all-state first team for the 2017 season.
The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Platter earned the honor as an outside linebacker while the 6-foot-1, 228-pound Miller was selected as an offensive lineman.
Elk Mound junior Brady Redwine was also named as a first team all-state selection for his role at offensive back.
In addition, two Mustangs earned honorable mention all-state selections; senior Tyler Amundson for his role as a punter and senior Justin Evans at offensive back.
Elk Mound senior Bryce Kasper was also an honorable mention pick for his role at offensive line. Junior Brett Lew was named as an inside linebacker.
Kimberly running back DJ Stewart was named the state’s offensive player of the year, Kimberly defensive end Boyd Dietzen was chosen as defensive player of the year, and Brookfield East’s Jum Jacobsen was selected as the state’s assistant coach of the year.
