HSHS Sacred Heart and St. Joseph’s hospitals will host Grammy Award winner Amy Grant for a presentation about resiliency and coping with depression. As part of her talk, Grant also will sing acoustic versions of a few of her favorite songs.
Grant’s career spans more than 30 years and stretches from her roots in gospel to her experience as an iconic pop star, songwriter, television personality and philanthropist.
The event will take place Thursday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. at the State Theatre (316 Eau Claire Street). Tickets are $15 or $20 and can be purchased at www.eauclairearts.com or by calling 715.832.ARTS (2787).
Proceeds from the event will be used to extend QPR suicide prevention training in the Chippewa Valley. This presentation is part of the two hospitals’ recurring “Human Connection” series, and was underwritten in part by the Partners of HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital.
“We want people to know that anyone may experience mental health struggles,” said Rhonda Brown, director of 3D Community Health at Sacred Heart and St. Joseph’s hospitals. “Bringing successful people like Amy Grant to the area lets people know that mental health does not skip someone just because they are wealthy, successful, attractive or have other favorable traits.”
