Love books but don’t want to spend a stack of cash as thick as “Gone With the Wind” for them?

Then the Friends of the Library Winter Book Sale is for you.

Next Thursday and Friday, the Chippewa Falls Public Library will be selling withdrawn, discarded or donated materials at the second annual Winter Book Sale. The sales the library has held in the summer have gone so well that they’ve expanded to have sales in the winter as well.

Recently appointed Library Director Joe Niese said that the books will number into the thousands.

It’s not just books, though. The sale will also include CDs, DVDs and even the odd piece of library furniture. Whatever your taste or whatever you’re after, there is sure to be something for everyone at the sale.

Prices range from free to $5 for a single book with some collections being more expensive. But most items will be $1.

The sale will be in the main meeting room just off the library’s lobby.

The Friends of the Library uses the proceeds to pay for things the library needs or could use that it doesn’t have funds set aside for in the budget.
