Hugh Mandelert passed away in 2001, but not before connecting with and inspiring other artists in the area.
Some of the artists who studied with Mandelert in Chippewa Falls are showcasing their drawings and paintings at the Hugh Mandelert Art Society Exhibit.
Most of the artists in the society have been painting together since the 1970s and continue to paint together as a group. There are 16 artists in the show this year.
The exhibit, on display at the Heyde Center, runs through Tuesday, Dec. 31 free of cost.
The artists will be available for a meet-and-greet Tuesday, Dec. 10 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Heyde Center.
At the same time as the reception, local authors Laurie Norlander and Melissa Wiltrout will be on hand to talk about and sign their published books.
Norlander is the author of “Mirror Images”, a romance/suspense novel about friendship, forgiveness and the power of faith.
Wiltrout published her debut novel, “Tessa: From Fear to Faith,” that tells of an abused teenager trapped by her father’s illegal drug business.
