The Chippewa Falls Manor Residential Living will be giving a salute to veterans in one of the largest and longest-running Veterans Day celebrations in the area from 8-9:30 a.m on Nov. 3.
The event will feature a “Missing Man” formation airplane flyover, an Honor Guard presentation with a traditional gun salute by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council, special veteran profiles, a display of historic military memorabilia and a video presentation focusing on why we celebrate.
There will also be live music performed by Chippewa Falls High School during the ceremony.
Among those who will be honored is WWII veteran Raleigh Nayes who was an original member of Merrill’s Marauders, a regiment-sized unit created and trained for long range penetration of Japanese lines in Burma during World War II.
