A man has been charged in Chippewa County court with stealing cash from a Chippewa Falls bar, then using his gains to purchase drinks at the same bar.

Brian D. Huset, 44, of Chippewa Falls, has been charged with burglary of a building or dwelling, theft of movable property and felony bail jumping.

He was set to make an initial appearance in Chippewa County court March 13.

According to a criminal complaint:

A man suspected to be Huset was caught on surveillance cameras in Sunbeam Tavern on March 4, 2018, at about 9:20 p.m. Huset took approximately four money bags from an ATM in the “employee-only” area of the bar. Roughly 30 minutes after the theft, he returned to the bar area and began buying drinks “with a large amount of money.”

Huset frequented the tavern for roughly two years, one of the owners told law enforcement. A bartender told one of the owners that Huset claimed he had “won big” and had a large amount of money.

Huset had three warrants for his arrest, including a nationwide warrant, the complaint said. When law enforcement contacted management at the Cindy Lake Trailer Park, where Huset resided, an official told law enforcement that earlier, Huset had commented that he was traveling to an airport and “appeared to be in a hurry.”

I don’t know how to respond to this news. to be frank, I was laughing out loud after seeing this news. what was he thinking when he went back there to buy the liquor. Or else he should have gone there to shoplift the liquor than stealing the cash.
