The Chippewa Falls Fire Department held an opening door ceremony Thursday for the new Chippewa Falls Fire Station No. 1 at 1301 Chippewa Crossing Boulevard, which opened two days earlier than its expected April 1 move-in date.
Chief Mike Hepfler said as of Thursday, it is the main operating station for the department.
They will keep the station at city hall staffed.
The trucks parked in the apparatus bay, the American flag was raised and the bell from the city's original fire station was unveiled.
Hepfler and members of the department also gave tours to city officials and business owners.
There will be an official open house for the public from 12-4 p.m. Sunday, June 25.
