A Chippewa Falls man, 40-year-old Shane Johnson, is charged in federal court in Madison with possessing 50 grams or more of methamphetamine with intent to distribute on Nov. 23.

If convicted, a press release by U.S. Attorney Scott C. Blader said Shane Johnson would serve between 5 and 40 years in federal prison.

Participating in the investigation of Johnson were the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, the Chippewa Falls Police Department, the Lake Hallie Police Department, West Central Drug Task Force, Wisconsin State Patrol and the U.S. Postal Service.

The prosecution of Shane Johnson is being handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth Altman.
