Criminal charges are pending against a La Crosse man who fled from police Monday afternoon on the La Crosse River marsh trails before crashing into a house, according to police.

Trevor Maloney, 20, fled from the Menards parking lot about 12:25 p.m. after an officer found the car had been stolen. He failed to stop for police at 30 Copeland Ave., drove on the marsh trails and on Monitor Street before officers ended the pursuit about a minute later, police said.

Maloney then crashed into a house in the 500 block of Gould Street and fled on foot. No one was home at the time.

Police found Maloney in a house in the 300 block of Copeland Avenue about 1:15 p.m.
