Man eludes police after chase

  • 0

The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department is asking for help finding a man seen putting fuel in a stolen vehicle Friday in the town of Wheaton in an incident that ended in a high speed chase.

Eric T. Hall, 39, is believed to have been at the Eau Claire Travel Center just before a high-speed chase that ended with a man fleeing his vehicle.

Chippewa and Eau Claire County deputies, the Eau Claire Police Department canine unit and the Wisconsin State Patrol Air Unit searched the area but were unable to find the man.

The sheriff’s department investigated a stolen vehicle report at 5:43 p.m. Friday in the same part of the county where the man was last seen. The stolen vehicle is a black 1999 Dodge 1500 Ram Truck with plate number FS6-001.

Hall is 5-feet-10, 172 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

Police warn anyone who sees Hall not to approach him, but instead to contact local police.

The sheriff’s department said the pursuit may be linked to an earlier stolen vehicle report from River Falls. The sheriff’s department is working with the River Falls Police Department in the investigation.
