EAU CLAIRE — Dennis J. Tallman, 60, of Eau Claire passed away peacefully at home with his wife at his side. He had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and went home to his Lord and Savior Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018.
Dennis was born July 31, 1957, in Chippewa Falls, to the late Giles and Dorothy (Benish) Tallman. He attended Chippewa Falls High School where he met “the prettiest girl in the whole world,” Susan Crossett. He made her his wife March 20, 1976, and they would have celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary this year.
He earned his bachelor of science degree with a teaching certificate in technology education from UW-Stout. Dennis and his family moved to Janesville, Wis., where he taught tech ed at Marshall Middle School. Dennis and his wife returned to Eau Claire, after the birth of their first grandchild. Dennis was a very proud grandpa and loved spending time “geeking out” with his grandkids. Most recently, he enjoyed his job at Building Hope, where he was able to use his skills and love for computers.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Susan; sons, Andrew (Christine) and Scott; grandchildren, Mortimer, Connor and Weston; siblings, Kenneth, Daniel (Kathy), Susan (Joe) Krenzelok and James (Dee); many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Seth.
Memorial service will be held noon today, Feb. 12, at Evergreen Funeral Home, (off Golf Road, one block East of Hwy. 93), with Pastor Dan Shambro officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, town of Washington, Wis., at a later date. Evergreen Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
