James L. Armstrong, 67, of Chippewa Falls, died suddenly Thursday, April 12, 2018, at his residence.
Jim was born Aug. 6, 1950, in Chippewa Falls, the son of Eugene “Whitey” and Julia (Cotter) Armstrong.
Jim served honorably in the U.S. Air Force from August of 1969 until December of 1977. While in the service he met his wife, Sheila that was also in the Air Force in the Philippines. On May 12, 1973, Jim married Sheila Brooks in Middletown Springs, Vt.
Jim worked at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport for many years.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Sheila; two brothers, Lee (Charlie) Armstrong and Paul (Kay) Armstrong both of Chippewa Falls; one sister, Ruth (Fred) Henderson of Chippewa Falls; brother-in-law, Greg Burger of Chippewa Falls; two nephews, Michael Burger and Steven Henderson; and two special friends, Tom Denning and Sarah Steponik both of Chippewa Falls.
Jim was preceded in death by one daughter, Rebecca “Scooter” Armstrong; his parents; and one sister, Cheryl Burger.
A memorial service will be held at noon Friday, April 20, at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. The Very Rev. Justin Kizewski of Holy Ghost Church will be officiating. Burial of cremains will be in Hope Cemetery in Chippewa Falls. Military rites will be conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council.
