Mary Theresa (Shakal) Moldenhauer, 50, of Ellsworth passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 15, 2013.
She was born on April 3, 1963, to Pete and Theresa Shakal in the town of Cooks Valley. She was the oldest of nine children.
Mary graduated from Bloomer High School and the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with degrees in chemistry and biology.

She married Richard Moldenhauer on July 19, 1986. Mary worked intermittently at BDI in River Falls. She also volunteered with various organizations. She was a devout Catholic and an active member at St. Mary’s in Big River. Mary was a loving mother and wife.
She is survived by: husband Rick; sons Daniel, Michael, Mark and Benjamin, and daughter Loretta; parents Pete and Theresa Shakal; brothers Joe (Yoshiko) Shakal, Andy (Rita) Shakal, George Shakal, Clayton Shakal, Tony (Tracy) Shakal and Dan (Leah) Shakal and sisters Rose (Ed) Miniatt and Jackie (Scott) Sproat; and many nieces and nephews. She will be sorely missed.
A Mass of Christian burial was held for Mary at 11 a.m. June 20 at St. Mary’s in Big River. Visitation was held June 19 at the Hill Funeral Home in Ellsworth, and for one hour prior to the service. Burial was at the Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls.
