The Rev. Guy Randolph Usher, Sr., SSC, 63, of Eau Claire, died Friday, October 22, 2004 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.

Fr. Usher was born on March 12, 1941 in Memphis, Tenn. to The Rev. Guy & Anne (Hamm) Usher. He married Evelyn Ann Coleman on August 26, 1961 in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from the University of the South at Sewanee, Tenn. in 1963, he attended Nashotah House (Episcopal) Theological Seminary, graduating in 1966. He was ordained to the deaconate on the feast of St. Thomas Aquinas, and the priesthood on the feast of the Transfiguration, 1966.

Over 36 years of ordained ministry, Fr. Usher served in parishes and missions in Lewisville and Grapevine, Texas; Vincennes, Indiana; Olney, Illinois; Hayward, Superior, River Falls, Chippewa Falls, Lafayette, and Altoona, Wisconsin. For the last three years, he has served as assisting priest at St. Katherine's in Owen.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; daughter Lucie (Tom) McGee all of Eau Claire: son, Rev. Guy R. Usher, Jr. of Withee.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The Requiem Holy Eucharist for Fr. Usher will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 27 at St. Katherine's Episcopal Church in Owen, with the Rev. Guy R. Usher Jr. officiating. Your prayers and presence are requested. The interment will be at a later time at Nashotah Theological Seminary in Nashotah.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Katherine's, PO Box 148, Owen, WI 54460.
