EAU CLAIRE — Steven Ellsworth Hedrington, 69, of Eau Claire passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018, peacefully at home.
Steve was born May 5, 1948, in Chippewa Falls, the son of the late Ellsworth and Rosemarie Hedrington. Steven was married to Judith Thompson for 47 years.
Steven worked as a railroad conductor for CP Rail for the majority of his life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved playing video poker at the casino. Steve liked to spend time at the cabin and on the lakes. He also had a huge love for gardening, he could keep any plant alive, and often shared what he got from his garden with his friends and family. Steve was a caring man, if anyone needed help, he was always there for family and friends. He was a big family man and was always there to support his grandchildren at all their sports events. Steve loved watching all sports, but he was especially a big fan of the Green Bay Packers. He would often back seat coach to the games on TV. He was also a fan of crossword puzzles during his free time. Steven and his wife Judy would travel to many places together, sharing many memories.
Steve is survived by his wife, Judith Hedrington; two children, Michael (Susan) Hedrington and Bret Hedrington; two brothers, Terence (Laurie) Hedrington and James (Debra) Hedrington; one sister, Susan (Patrick) Donley; one sister-in-law, Roxane Hedrington; two grandchildren, Johnathan Hedrington and Anna Hedrington; and several nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Ellsworth Levi Hedrington and Rosemarie (Young) Hedrington; his brother, John “Scott” Hedrington; his sister-in-law, Kristi Hedrington; and a nephew, Aaron Hedrington.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hedrington family.
Visitation will be held at 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 15, at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, and will conclude with sharing memories of Steven at 4 p.m.
