A Sheldon man has been charged in Chippewa County with leading police on a high-speed chase in November 2017.
Graham C. Timme, 21, of N416 County Rd. VV, has been charged with first-degree recklessly endangering safety and fleeing/eluding an officer.
A warrant for Timme’s arrest was issued in Chippewa County court Wednesday.
According to a criminal complaint:
A Chippewa Falls police officer attempted to stop a speeding truck on Nov. 27 in Chippewa Falls.
The truck’s driver accelerated when the police officer tried to begin a traffic stop on Chippewa Crossing Boulevard. Speeds reached about 100 mph, and the officer eventually stopped pursuing the truck after it maintained high speeds.
The truck appeared to be registered to Timme and another person. A relative told officers Timme had admitted to fleeing from an attempted traffic stop.
On Dec. 1, Timme told an officer he didn’t stop because he didn’t know why he was being pulled over.
