One proposal introduced during the task force's news conference included $800,000 more for the program that replaces contaminated wells and making nitrate contaminated well a priority. However, Steve Walters referenced Gov. Tony Evers's report, released before the news conference, which estimated that it would take $440 million to replace all of the private wells that exceed the nitrate standard.
