"If the federal government, right from the get go, said, 'we're going to take care of equipment' or 'we're going to take care of testing,' they could've...and it would've put us in a much better place than we are today," Governor Tony Evers (D) said at a recent health care roundtable. Gov. Evers highlighted that the majority of testing in Wisconsin falls on the National Guard due to lack of federal support or guidance. Evers also talked about how the pandemic further exposed health care inequities as well as stripped an estimated 5.4 million American's of their health care insurance between February and May due to job loss.
