The Fire and Police Commission, a civilian board in charge of overseeing the Milwaukee Police Department, recently issued a series of directives for Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales to accomplish that come due on August 6. Milwaukee Press Club held a virtual event for Chief Morales to talk about the challenge of the directives and his desire to maintain his position. However, there is concern that Morales may lose his position regardless of seeing the directives through. "I want to continue...and I will serve until I'm told otherwise," Morales said. Morales was also joined by his lawyer Franklyn Gimbel who thinks the FCP is "on a mission to fire the chief of police."
