With the spring election happening on April 6, Milwaukee Press Club and WisPolitics.com hosted a forum with the State Department of Public Instruction Superintendent candidates Deborah Kerr and Jill Underly to discuss issues affecting public education in Wisconsin. This segment focuses on their responses to bills coming out that limit the participation of transgender students in sports. Kerr said that she does not support transgender participation in specific gendered teams but would support bills that focus on coed sports participation. Underly commented that Kerr's response was transphobic and emphasized the need to enforce anti-bullying and anti-harassment in schools and in society.
