ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands — The University of Wisconsin women's basketball team was well on its way to victory Thursday in its opening game of the Paradise Jam.

Unfortunately for the Badgers, there was one more quarter to be played.

The Badgers held a 20-point lead with less than 2 minutes to go in the third quarter but Georgia embarked on a 26-0 run over the final 10 minutes to pull away 68-60.

Maty Wilke made a career-high four 3-pointers and scored 14 points to lead the Badgers (3-3), who at one point led 55-35. Avery LaBarbera provided 13 points, six rebounds and six assists.

The Badgers led 33-23 at halftime and ended the third quarter shooting 64.3% from the field and 66.7% from 3-point range. But their scoring drought lasted from 1:58 remaining in the third period until there was 2:41 left in the game.

UW shot 43.9% (25 for 57) from the field, including 31.8% (7 for 22) from 3-point range.

Diamond Battles led Georgia (6-0) with 24 points, including 11 in the decisive fourth quarter.

The Badgers will face Seton Hall at noon Friday in the Paradise Jam. The Pirates (2-3) were edged 62-61 by VCU on Thursday.
