MINNEAPOLIS — Jack Berry made a career-high 40 saves, and Trent Frederic's third-period goal was the difference in the No. 14 University of Wisconsin men's hockey team's 3-2 victory over No. 7 Minnesota on Saturday.
No. 3: Forward Matthew Freytag had a goal and an assist for the Badgers.
No. 2: Trent Frederic scored the winner with 9:20 remaining on a Jake Linhart shot that changed directions of his shin pad. He also set up Freytag's goal.
No. 1: UW goaltender Jack Berry made 20 of his 40 saves in the third period.

The University of Wisconsin men's hockey team will turn to Jack Berry in goal for the second game of a series at No. 7 Minnesota on Saturday (7 p.m., FSW+, 1070 AM).
Berry stopped all nine shots he faced after replacing starter Kyle Hayton in the second period of a 5-4 Golden Gophers victory on Friday. It's the fourth start of the season for Berry; he's 2-1 in his previous three.
Forward Linus Weissbach is out of the UW lineup after suffering what appeared to be a head injury on Friday. Max Zimmer went into his spot on the second line.
