Athletes are listed alphabetically. Haley Frank The Chippewa Falls/Menomonie senior goaltender stopped 42 shots for the Sabers in a 2-1 victory over Hudson last Tuesday, the first Big Rivers Conference win for the program since 2015. Frank has a 4-4 record so far this season and has stopped 91.2 percent of shots faced in net. BRANDON BERG, Chippewa Herald Megan Lechleitner The Lake Holcombe senior is back in the lineup for the Chieftains girls basketball team after returning from a torn ACL. Lechleitner averaged 7.5 points per game in her first two games back for Lake Holcombe against Prairie Farm and Lac Courte Oreilles. Lechleitner averaged more than 11 points per game last season. BRANDON BERG, Chippewa Herald Ethan Patz The New Auburn senior has been a steady scorer for the Trojan boys basketball team, scoring at least 13 points in eight of his team's first 10 games. Patz scored 17 points and added three assists in his team's 71-36 win over Clayton last Tuesday. For the season, Patz is averaging more than 15 points per contest. BRANDON BERG, Chippewa Herald Peyton Rogers-Schmidt The Chi-Hi senior was electrifying in the boys basketball team's 59-52 victory over previously unbeaten Eau Claire North last Tuesday, a win that moved the Cardinals into a tie atop the Big Rivers Conference standings. Rogers-Schmidt led the way with 23 point including a pair of rim-rocking dunks to go with 13 rebounds and a pair of steals. BRANDON BERG, Chippewa Herald Trent Witkowski The McDonell senior tied a season high with seven points in last Saturday's 49-48 boys basketball win over Alma Center Lincoln. Witkowski made the most of those points, scoring the final four points for the Macks including the go-ahead bucket with 7.7 seconds left in the contest.
