Six Chippewa County boys basketball teams will start the postseason at home, according to WIAA boys basketball playoff pairings released on Sunday.
New Auburn is the No. 1 overall seed in their regional while Chi-Hi, McDonell and Stanley-Boyd grabbed No. 2 seeds in their respective playoff pairings.
In addition, Bloomer and Lake Holcombe will host openers. Regional quarterfinals take place on Tuesday, March 3 with regional semifinals on Friday, March 6 and regional finals on Saturday, March 7. Sectional semifinals are held at neutral sites on Thursday, March 12 with sectional finals taking place on Saturday, March 14.
Chi-Hi (13-7) earned a No. 2 seed in their Division 1 sub-sectional and will host No. 7 Marshfield (6-15) in regional semifinals. Chi-Hi defeated Marshfield 64-48 at the Big Rivers Conference/Wisconsin Valley Conference Challenge on Dec. 30 at Marshfield. The winner of that matchup will face the winner of No. 6 Hudson/No. 3 D.C. Everest the next night for a regional championship.
The Cardinals have won four games in a row and close the regular season by hosting Onalaska on Tuesday and play at Menomonie on Thursday.
New Auburn (17-3) earned a No. 1 seed in their Division 5 regional and hosts No. 8 Clear Lake. The Trojans defeated Clear Lake 55-44 last Tuesday. New Auburn is closing in on its second East Lakeland Conference championship in the last four years. The Trojans can grab the conference title outright with wins at Cornell on Monday and at Lake Holcombe on Thursday.

McDonell (14-7) grabbed the No. 2 seed in the same regional and hosts No. 7 Eau Claire Immanuel in the opening round. The Macks have won eight of their last 10 games entering Thursday's Cloverbelt Crossover games. The Trojans and Macks could meet in the regional finals.
No. 4 Bloomer (12-8) will host No. 5 Durand (5-16) in the opening round of the Division 3 playoffs. The winner advances to face top-seeded Arcadia.
Stanley-Boyd (8-12) earned a No. 2 seed in their Division 4 regional and gets a bye to regional semifinals, where they will host the winner of No. 6 Cadott (7-12) at No. 3 Osseo-Fairchild (10-11). The Orioles have split their two regular season matchups with the Hornets and Thunder. Cadott and Osseo-Fairchild split their two matchups this season in Western Cloverbelt Conference play.
Lake Holcombe (11-10) grabbed a No. 4 seed in their Division 5 regional and hosts No. 5 Thorp (3-17). Cornell (4-16) is a No. 7 seed and plays at No. 2 Rib Lake while No. 6 Gilman travels to No. 3 Prentice.
