Visit Castlerock Museum in Alma, Wisconsin, on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a special program with reenactors from the 2nd Minnesota Battery of Light Artillery.
The highlight of the day’s events will be non-firing cannon drills with a full-size replica of a Model 1861 ten-pounder Parrott Rifle at 10 a.m. and 2:05 p.m. Talks in the museum theater will cover Civil War Era Firearms at 1:20 p.m. and The Soldier’s Life and Uniform at 2:45 p.m. Programs in the museum courtyard include Ammunition and Flags at 10:45 a.m, Period Music at 11:30 a.m., Period Quilts at 12:15 p.m. and Period Games at 3:30 p.m. There will be a display of quilts made by the women of the Second Battery using period patterns and reproduction fabrics in the courtyard as well.
